Frequently Asked Dentistry Questions
There’s a lot of information about what OakBrook Dental & Orthodontics has to offer here on our website, but we understand that you may still have questions or concerns about what to expect when you pay us a visit. Our team is always happy to provide answers! Take a look at our frequently asked questions below, and if you still don’t find the information you need, you can give us a call here in McKinney.
How often should I be going to the dentist?
Children and adults alike need to have a checkup and cleaning every six months, or twice each calendar year. Why? Because that way, we can help you keep your smile safe, strong, and free of common dangers.
Do you treat children or only adults?
We treat everyone! We’re a true family dental office, and our lengthy menu of available services truly has something for smiles at every stage of life.
Will I have to see a separate doctor if I want dental implants?
Not at all. Dr. Nguyen is our implant specialist, and he’s right here in-house when you need him. Whether you need to replace a single tooth, several teeth, or a whole row, we can complete the process from beginning to end under one roof in a convenient, time-saving fashion.
I want straighter teeth. What are my options?
You’re in luck – Dr. Nathan Coughlin is a board-certified orthodontist, and he offers several techniques that can straighten gapped or misaligned teeth and improve your overall quality of life in the process. Traditional braces, clear and ceramic braces, and even cosmetic-friendly Invisalign is available for patients in need, and we’ll be happy to work with you to determine which option is best for you or your child.
Can you help me improve the way my smile looks?
Yes! We have several cosmetic services that can treat common dental flaws and leave your teeth more confident than ever, such as teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, cosmetic bonding, and more.
Do you see dental emergencies?
Of course. When you call us with an urgent situation like a broken tooth or serious oral pain, our doctors will do everything in their power to see you as soon as possible. In fact, we’re usually able to fit people in on the same day as their initial call.
When are you open?
We’re open from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, and 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays. These extended hours give us the ability to accommodate busy patients and families who need that extra bit of flexibility to receive the important dental care they all need.
